Welcoming Sunday

As summer winds down, we’re getting ready to gather together again and we’d love for you to be part of it.
Sunday, August 30 is our Welcoming Sunday at Bethany First Church.
This will be a special morning in the life of our church family as we reconnect after the summer, celebrate new beginnings, welcome new members, and look ahead to a new season together.
We’ll continue our Ordinary Time theme, “Our Story: The Parables of Jesus” series with Luke 14:7–14 and Jesus’ invitation to a different way of living: “Life in Humility.” Together, we’ll consider what it means to value one another, make room for others, and build a community where everyone has a place.
There will be several special moments in worship:
- A Back-to-School Blessing for students, teachers, school staff, and anyone beginning a new chapter.
- A Celebration of Baptism as we rejoice in new life and faith.
- A Welcome for New Members as we celebrate those becoming part of our church family.
Maybe you’ve been away this summer. Maybe your schedule has been different. Maybe you simply haven’t made it to church as often as you normally do. Come reconnect with people you’ve missed and celebrate what God is doing in our church.
There’s a place for you here.
We hope you’ll join us for Welcoming Sunday on August 30, and please consider inviting someone to come with you, we’d love to welcome them, too.
