“Those who are gracious to the poor lend to the Lord and the Lord will fully repay them”

– Proverbs 19:17

Guided by Jesus’ “Great Commandment”, to love God with all our heart, soul and mind, and to love or neighbors as ouselves, we reach out to others in a variety of ways. We collect food for the hungry every Sunday, as well as warm coats and Christmas gifts in the winter. We support a number of local and global mission efforts through our denomination, the United Church of Christ.

We are a 5 for 5 UCC church with support for  Our Church’s Wider Mission Basic Support and the Special Mission Offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen The Church, Neighbors In Need and The Christmas Fund. These special collections provide emergency assistance to retired clergy through the Christmas Fund, disaster relief after a hurricane through One Great Hour of Sharing, or supporting regional camps through OCWM Basic Support.

Around Mother’s Day we collect diaper and other supplies to support the New Haven Diaper Bank. When the weather turns cold, we collect winter coats to assist Loaves and Fishes in New Haven in their mission to provide warm clothing for those in need.

We collect back packs filled with clothing, toys, books and other emergency supplies for the CT Alliance for Foster and Adoptive Families throughout the year. We have also assisted them with Angel Tree gifts at Christmas.
