Pastor's Message

Dear Members and Friends of the First Church of Christ,

Thank you for welcoming me with such warmth and enthusiasm last Sunday! I am so grateful and pleased to accept the call to be your new settled pastor, and am very much looking forward to beginning my ministry with you all on July 1. I truly felt that the Spirit was moving in our midst on Sunday, and I can't wait to see where God will lead us as we move into the future together.

A special word of thanks to everyone who made the celebratory brunch such a festive occasion -- to Eleanor Beckert and all who prepared and hosted the bounteous spread, to the Search Committee for a spirited rendition of "Sweet Caroline," and to all of you who added your good cheer. All in all, a wonderfully memorable Sunday!

I certainly share, too, in your gratitude for the faithful ministry of Louise Higginbotham and Mary Lou Howson during these interim years.

May these next few weeks be a time of blessing for one and all, as we "transition out of a transition" and joyfully anticipate walking across the threshold together into a new era.
