Church Life

The First Church of Christ Congregational here in Bethany offers many groups and community events to encourage our members to be active, enjoy fellowship and togetherness and interact with our community.  Here are just some of the wide array of activities and groups we offer.

Men’s Club -  The Men’s Club meets the first Monday of every month at 6:30. All men are welcome to join us.

The men sponsor a Pancake Brunch after church on the second Sunday of the month throughout the year (except during the summer months). They serve blueberry, chocolate chip and regular pancakes, French toast, egg sandwiches, sausage, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. Cost is 5 dollars for everyone.

Women’s Club -  One of the annual events that the Women’s Club holds is its’ annual Spring Rummage Sale. This popular sale has become a semi-annual event offering items at very reasonable prices. There is always a very large selection of very wearable clothes for every member of the family along with household items, jewelry, shoes and boots, children’s games and toys, linens, books and many more items. There are also some new items that make great gifts. Rummage sales are a traditional recycling activity. There is never an admission cost.

Some of the special highlights of the year include our Christmas Bazaar (in early December) and our Strawberry Supper (in early June).
